abandoned

my poor abandoned blog.  I think about updating it often, but do you think I make time to write a post?  NO.  It would probably help if writing were one of my outlets...maybe someday in the future.  until then, here's short list of updates:

• andrew is 11 months old!  can you believe that?
• we got new windows, now we need a new bathroom.  will the list ever end?
• one of our neighbors (who we thought we were friends with) moved and didn't even tell us, or say goodbye.
• my christmas cards are on my counter waiting to be sealed and stamped.
• poor little andrew doesn't have a stocking yet this year.  oh well, it's jesus that's the reason anyways, right.
• speaking of my little andrew....he hates sleeping and acts as if he's about to give it up and never sleep again.  we've been doing some major sleep training with him thanks to a book I ordered from paperback swap. 
• I'm still subbing.  I had a TERRIBLE day at one school that made me never want to step into another classroom.  I've decided to only sub (unless I'm desperate for a job) at 2 schools that I love.
• we're getting ready to go skiing with family.  should be interesting.
• sure I could go on, but that's good for now
• pictures will have to come another time because they take FOREVER to upload.  how do people always put pictures in their blogs?  i clearly don't have the patience which might be why I don't write on here more often.  hmm.

sleeping

Maybe I should just change my blog to have a sleep theme.  I certainly love sleeping.  Asher and Andrew have never been champion sleepers, but you know, everyone has to sleep. 

The other night I thought Asher was with Spencer and Spencer thought Asher was with me.  This is where we found him...sleeping in the hallway just outside of the kitchen.  Poor guy was tired and couldn't get anyone to read him a good night story or say prayers with him.  Maybe this has something to do with why he won't sleep through the night.  We'll try to do better buddy, we sure love you!

sleepy saturday

i was working on some things downstairs and when I came upstairs I found this:

both are fast asleep....now that's one good saturday nap.

2 weeks

spencer and i just said good-bye to each other for almost the next two weeks.  He's going to the national scout jamboree.  We'll meet up again in New York in about 2 weeks.  I'm sure the boys and I will survive.  we have lots planned...and lots of help.  I wonder how Asher will feel?  he's SUCH a daddy's boy.  He may not let spencer out of his grip when they are reunited in a couple weeks.

better get to my list for the day.

he turned 2

he got 2 baseball bats and completely loves them.  after blowing out the candles, he and his cousins had fun picking the candy off the cake and eating it...some of the adults even enjoyed eating the candy.  noting big, but a lot of love celebrating his number 2.

Come Away

In the bathroom I keep a book called "Come Away My Beloved" by Frances J Roberts.  I also keep the bible there because those are the time during the day when I'm alone and don't have busy hands.  I have some time to step back, so I often read something from "Come Away My Beloved."  The book is a collection of short exerpts (not really devotionals because there is no quoted scripture).  Each one though speaks directly to the heart, and does quote scripture, but in a diferent way than just saying it straight from the bible.  I'll leave you with one to think about today. I picked a short one because the children are needy today.  So i need this more today than ever!  It's also fiting with the weather today.

Happy Birthday!!

This is a little early...his birthday isn't until tomorrow. But I'm remembering 2 years ago when I was having some extreme contractions about now so thought I'd just post early.

Happy Birthday Asher!!  I can't imagine life without your precious smile!
